The New Zealand Equine Research Foundation is committed to supporting the needs of horse breeders in New Zealand.

In response to the demand for a comprehensive booklet on horse genetics, the Foundation enlisted the expertise of the late Professor Ann Bowling, a renowned equine geneticist from the University of California at Davis.

The Foundation recognized the importance of basing the booklet on sound scientific principles and practical experience, and Ann Bowling's credentials as an expert in the field and active breeder of Arabian horses made her the ideal candidate for the task.

The NZERF is grateful for the financial support of the Pye Foundation, New Zealand Equine Veterinary Association, and New Zealand Bloodstock, which made the production of this booklet possible.
