The New Zealand Equine Research Foundation (NZERF) is a charitable trust that was initially established in 1976. Our organization is dedicated to promoting the welfare, health, and performance of horses, as well as encouraging the scientific study and understanding of these magnificent animals.

Our Foundation has a variety of aims, including promoting and expanding public knowledge regarding the breeding, feeding, management, health, and performance of horses of all types. We believe that through education, we can increase awareness and understanding of horses, which can lead to better care and improved outcomes.

We also support research and other scientific work related to horses, and the NZERF is committed to making the results of such work available to the public. Our team works closely with leading veterinarians, researchers, and industry professionals to drive advances in equine health and well-being.

Finally, we instigate or assist projects that promote the advancement of horses, whether through improved management practices, better veterinary care, or other means. The NZERF is passionate about contributing to the knowledge base of equine health and sharing our findings with the broader community.
