Nick Johnson represents the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Association on the NZERF Board.

Nick is the CEO of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (NZTBA), appointed in October 2023. Originally from Wellington, he developed a passion for racing from an early age. With a background in leadership positions in commercial sales and marketing, he spent a decade in the UK while staying engaged with the racing industry. Now leading NZTBA, he aims to strengthen and promote New Zealand’s breeding sector.

Nick also serves on the boards of New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing, the New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame, and the New Zealand Equine Education Trust.

In his role on the NZERF Board, he is passionate about ensuring that equine research is effectively shared and understood by all industry stakeholders.
