Terms and Conditions: Vet Farrier Scholarship Application

THE APPLICANTS FOR THE VET/FARRIER SCHOLARSHIP UNDERSTAND THAT IF THEY ARE AWARDED THE SCHOLARSHIP THEY MUST UNDERTAKE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
The applicants confirm that they are a Vet & Farrier from the same geographic location applying on the basis that they will travel overseas & and attend specific farrier type courses, conferences and/or a specialist Vet & Farrier Practice and return to their home region and work together on the treatment of a horse/s.
The applicants confirm that they are members of the Equine Veterinary Association and NZ Farriers Association respectively.
The Award funds will not be expended for any purpose other than that described in the application, being to spend time at a training facility, or conference alongside the named Vet/Farrier travel partner, who has been jointly awarded the corresponding Scholarship. Any changes to approved expenditure or travel arrangements may only be made, in exceptional circumstances, with the approval of the Chairman of NZERF.
The Award Recipient will supply NZERF with a short bio and photograph for use in NZERF publications, social media and on the website.
The Award Recipient agrees to supply NZERF with a report within three (3) months of their return to New Zealand. This report should be a lay report, including photos and case examples that may be included in NZERF publications.
The Award Recipient will acknowledge the funding of NZERF and sponsors Equine Veterinarians NZ and NZ Farriers Association in any published works, and will supply NZERF with a copy of any such publications.
The Scholarship provides $3,000 towards travel costs per applicant ($6000 total for the pair), unless alternative terms are arranged. Payment will be made as a lump sum on receipt of:
a signed copy of this agreement; and
evidence of travel and other relevant bookings (e.g. conference attendance).
As the Vet and Farrier Scholarship is awarded and undertaken jointly, each Recipient's participation is conditional on the other Recipient also meeting these Terms and Conditions. Should either Recipient withdraw or fail to meet these conditions, NZERF reserves the right to review, adjust, or withdraw the Scholarship for the remaining Recipient.
If, during the period of the Scholarship, the Recipient fails to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions, embarrasses or brings into disrepute NZERF, or is guilty of any inappropriate behaviour, the Scholarship may be terminated at NZERF's request. In this event, the Recipient acknowledges that any payments made to them, or on their behalf, in respect of the Scholarship shall become a debt owing to NZERF and repayable on demand.
NZERF accepts no responsibility for liability suits, actions, demands, damages, costs, or fees arising from death, injury to persons or property, or any losses resulting from or connected with any act or omission performed in the course of utilising the Scholarship.
